I met Jocelyn R.Taylor and Chandra McQueen at a social event and we instantly connected because we have the same goal, mission, belief. Empowering women and young girls to #Own Your Power! Use Your Voice. We began to discuss their Layer Up Campaign and what it means coming off of #MeToo and #TimesUp movements. Layer Up essentially meaning being a global social responsibility movement and call-to-action reform that reinforces and shields against ANY and ALL levels of disrespect, harassment and/or predatory conduct. This conversation sparked so much interest that I felt it needed to continue within our pages and your circles of influence.
Jocelyn went on to share: “When a woman is “layered up”, she unapologetically and boldly embraces a self-assured confident spirit and demeanor for zero tolerance on her terms.” This is a woman who stays Poised, Positioned and Prepared in BOTH her professional and personal surroundings!
The ONGOING message is for people particularly women, to TRUST her inner strength. By owning responsibility for YOUR words and actions, you have the POWER to minimize any opportunity of becoming a victim of any nature, no
matter who or what instilled the fear of the consequences.
#LayerUpWithJRT also includes a male “call-to-action” social responsibility component that communicates to boys and young men that their language and behavior is accountable and will no longer be accepted and/or dismissed as “locker room” humor.
#LayerUpWithJRT places a call to action within the corporate structure as well, by offering educational programs in Executive Coaching, Personal Training and Development Workshops to roundtable discussions with #LayerupandStayWoke: Taking it to the streets NYC web series and #LayerupwithJRT spotlight live that incorporates celebrity and social influencers to tell their stories of being Poised, Prepared and Positioned.
