Hey DVA’s
Have you ever been shopping or at church and pass a lady and her cheeks look like they are glowing from another planet? Well honey, let me tell you how you can achieve this look, it’s called highlight! They come in many forms: Cream, Powder, Liquid, and Loose powder. You want to pay close attention to your desired finish.
Map out your approach- After creating a flawless canvas with your foundation, map out the areas you want to highlight using dots of concealer one shade lighter than your skin tone. Apply dots horizontally over the center of your forehead, down and around your nose, under your eyes, and in an arch over your chin. This will give you a guideline on exactly where you want to place your glow. Do you want a softer approach or a reflection that would even make you scream with joy? Here are some tips that will help you make that decision:
If you want a subtle glow, aim for a powder with a large fluffy brush and put in right on the top of the apples of your cheek. This will ensure a subtle glow as you turn your head from side to side and everyone will want to know what vacation you just came from.
For a more noticeable glow, opt for the same powder highlight however wet a foundation brush or a beauty sponge and press in the same area. This will elevate your glow to a level that everyone will want to be down with.
Now lets bring on the intensity!! If you really want to shine bright like a diamond, take a setting spray and spray your cheeks, center of your nose and your cupids bow and place a loose powder on each individual section. What is that you see?? Your reflection my love and yes it is fierce!!! A loose pearlescent powder or liquid highlighter will take your glow to the highest level you can imagine. This can be seen from afar and typically some reserve this look for nighttime. But if you are courageous such as I, rock this look with a sharp wing liner and a dope high heel.
Highlighters are all the rage and when applied correctly, it will look like the angels are having a concert on your cheeks. Just remember a little goes a long way to have you competing with the sun.
