Let’s talk Citrus! Lemon, Lime, Orange, and Grapefruit are the most popular colors in décor during the Springtime. Small changes with fruit can update any kitchen, living room, dining room or patio. Citrus makes for an awesome design motif. The fruits are colorful, visually appealing, and gender neutral. Lemon yellow gives us a sense of hope, happiness, and joy. If the client wants to lighten and brighten up their space, my recommendation would be a dominant lemon color, especially in kitchen or dining spaces.
Lemon yellow and lime green always complement each other. A simple accessory in a kitchen or dining room would be a large crystal bowl with lemon and limes in it. We see this look in every home decor magazine or our favorite HGTV show. In an all-white kitchen, these citrus colors give a crisp light and airy kitchen a pop of color and make your kitchen inviting.
I recommend Orange and Ruby Red Grapefruit colors to a client who wants to create a festive outside decor. They put you in “party mode” for BBQ fun and chillaxing. These colors are bright and playful, beach-like even. We have seen these fruit motifs in beach decor from outdoor rugs to Melamine dinnerware and kitchen accessories.

Outside spaces are the best choices for these citrus colors. Patio and decorated decks are prime. Wicker chairs and loungers with decorative cushions are a great choice to use this design concept.
