Sisterfriends,
“Use your words”, “Choose your words carefully”, “Watch your mouth!”, “Life and death are in the power of your tongue”, “Speak positively”, “Speak clearly”, “Enunciate!”, “Say hello, thank you, no thank you, please.” Surely these are some of the words of wisdom and instruction we’ve received from our moms and mom figures in our lives. We’ve been guided by “You may want to rephrase that”, “Communicate effectively”, “Word it differently”, Speak it into existence”. Gentle pushes towards excellence.
Even prior to and whilst writing these letters to you, and creating and choosing the content of this magazine, I pray for words of power that will affirm who you are and your purpose. Matter factly it was the very scripture of Psalm 68:11 that confirmed my purpose: one of them being the birth of this magazine!
We are powerful in just the sheer force of solidarity in empowerment conferences and meetups, we can spread it through edifying commentary and referrals on each other’s social media platforms. Elevating each others’ platforms, businesses, and ministries. All thru words of power. I honor my Mom for her continual words of power spoken over me, my purpose and our family and even herself! I find myself holding onto her words tighter now than ever. I hold onto and cherish her written words of encouragement and blessing. I intentionally internalize her dynamic inspirit. I honor my sister for imparting uplifting words to continue in my purpose as she walks in her own!
In this issue, we celebrate and honor Moms in collaboration with the passionate and visionary executive chef of Kanvas as she pays tribute to her grandmoms’ words of power. We celebrate spring with pastels, floral nail tutorial, and bespoke press ons in collaboration with celebrity manicurist Grace Kingsley. We join forces with unapologetically fab and life-giving, plus size traveler Nicole Casanova! To top it off we’ve collaborated with busy mom, wife and creative, interior designer Jaye Nibbs with tips she shares for a sweet retreat.
